examines the impact of inhalant abuse in a dramatized account of two Texas families as they deal with the devastating effects of inhalant abuse on their lives (21 min. 23 secs.).

What's Wrong With Inhalants ($189 for video, teacher's guide and resource materials)
This 24-minute video targets grades 6-10 and tells the story of two fifteen-year-olds who lost their lives to inhalant use. The video concludes with refusal skill scenarios by a teenage theatre troupe. The video, complete with a teacher's guide and resource materials, comes packaged in a binder. The Ten Day Attack of the Killer Solvent (free in Canada)
short cartoon video, comic book and inhalant prevention guidebook produced by the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, Canada. This is an elementary age video especially designed to incorporate Native population use of inhalants. Call 204-944-6233 to order.

Without being a how-to guide, this 20-minute video depicts the personal stories of ex-users who explain how they got started, why they stopped and why your students should learn that inhalants are poisons, not drugs. Appropriate for grades 5-8. Order from

Community Prevention

National Inhalants & Poisons Awareness Week (NIPAW) Coordinator's Kit ($35 plus $5 postage)
campaign kit designed to promote inhalant awareness on the community-level. The kit is used nationwide by health organizations, schools, civics groups, DARE officers, drug prevention centers, anti-drug coalitions, local retailers, poison control centers, media organizations and more to draw attention to the growing problem of inhalant abuse in the country. The kit provides a step-by-step "how to" guide for coordinators, background information, suggested activities and camera-ready art for posters, flyers, newspaper/magazine ads, brochures and bag stuffers.
